The Lion Courtyard, the Alhambra, Granada, Spain by Hercules Brabazon Brabazon looks into the famous courtyard through a screen of slender columns and carved arches. Delicate grey and blue washes pick up the patterned walls, the tiled floor, and the fountain tucked deeper into the space. The open courtyard feels cool and quiet, with light falling across the ground and shadows drawing the eye inward. 

Hercules Brabazon Brabazon was a British watercolorist born in Paris in 1821. He traveled widely through Europe, North Africa, and India, and became known for loose, atmospheric watercolors of architecture, landscapes, and places he visited along the way.
