Sketch Made on Indian Reservation, Montana by Walter Shirlaw shows several horses gathered around a seated figure in the open Montana landscape. Shirlaw uses quick, loose lines to catch the animals’ stance and the closeness between them, giving the sketch a sense of life even in its simplicity.
