Autumn Landscape with a River by Michał Gorstkin-Wywiórski follows a quiet river as it bends through an autumn landscape, bordered by grasses, trees, and low vegetation beginning to turn for the season. The water reflects the muted sky and surrounding foliage, with warmer rust and ochre tones appearing through the greens and browns along the banks. Painted in the early 20th century, the scene has the natural, unhurried quality Wywiórski was known for, capturing the landscape as it actually looked rather than turning it into something overly dramatic.

Michał Gorstkin-Wywiórski was a Polish painter born in Warsaw in 1861 and best known for his landscapes and maritime scenes. He studied at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts and also trained in the studios of Józef Brandt and Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski. Extensive travels through Europe, Scandinavia, Egypt, and the Carpathians gave him a wide range of landscapes to work from, with rivers, coastlines, forests, and changing weather becoming recurring subjects throughout his career.

This vintage artwork has been carefully restored from the original painting and reproduced as a premium fine art print, with the option to add a real wood frame crafted by our artisan framers. Each print is carefully produced to preserve the original color, detail, and character of the artwork. Framed prints arrive ready to hang.

Jen at Sugar&Canvas went the whole 9 yards to help me put a border on this print. When I saw this design, I had to have. It matches my guest room bedding! How awesome! Great quality paper and vibrant, exacting colors. Love it! Thank you Jen

After hiring 2 artists to make an art piece for my daughters nursery and they both came back nothing like what I wanted, I had to order a pre-made and I'm happy I did. It may not the be original that I wanted but it's gorgeous!

It’s the first time I buy art print online, things that concerns me while searching online for the right art were the quality of the paper, the color brightness, size and all that. This one turns out great, without touching the surface and looking from not far distance, my partner actually thought it’s paint by hand. Love it!

We LOVE these prints. I am always so hesitant to purchase prints online. I originally purchased just one of these prints but I was blown away by the quality and I just loved the art that I ordered a second one.
